12-year-old with autism reported missing out of Edgewater, police say

Edgewater police are searching for a 12-year-old boy who left his home on foot Thursday night.

Brayden Milham Hopson left home around 8 p.m. from the area of Regent and Bond streets, off Mango Tree Drive just north of 16th Street, the Edgewater Police Department said on social media.

Hopson is described as around 103 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes, according to the post. The clothing that Hopson was last seen wearing is visible in the leftmost image at the top of this story.

He has autism, police said, urging anyone who sees him to not approach, chase, or frighten him.

"Keep him in sight from a safe distance if possible and CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY so officers can respond to his location," the post states. "If you have information that may assist investigators but do not currently know Brayden’s location, please contact the non-emergency law enforcement line at 386-424-2000, Option #3."
