A new 250-foot cell tower erected just days ago along U.S. Highway 183 next to Stonewall Ranch has caught the attention of nearby residents, who are now looking for more information about the project and how it moved from review to construction.
The tower, identified in state records as Liberty Hill Cell Tower TX-801, is located at 1007 N. U.S. 183 on a 6.89-acre industrial property immediately adjacent to the neighborhood.
While the property has a Liberty Hill address, it is not within the Liberty Hill city limits. Instead, it sits in the city's extraterritorial jurisdiction, or the ETJ.
City development records show 4M Towers submitted plans for a wireless telecommunications facility at the property. The project was still listed as “under review” in the city's development reports in April and May 2026.
Just a few months later, the tower is standing.
Engineering documents filed with the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality provide additional details about the project. The plans call for a 250-foot self-supporting telecommunications tower and identify the site as TX-801.
