6 hours ago Graphic Created With Canva 3 Notes From Bills’ Week 2 Victory Over Lions Week 2 of the NFL season started with the Buffalo Bills defeating the Detroit Lions 41-31 in their first game in the new stadium . Let’s dive into three notes from the Bills’ victory.
Bills’ offense came out strong, unlike Lions’ offense. The Buffalo Bills scored a touchdown on their very first drive. Following the touchdown, the Bills’ defense held the Lions to just three plays on their first drive of the game, notably sacking Jared Goff for a loss of seven, putting the Lions in a 4th-and-15 situation.
The Bills scored another touchdown on their drive following the Lions’ punt, and the defense again applied pressure on Goff, resulting in another punt. The Bills secured a 14-0 lead in the first quarter.
The Lions would go on to score 10 points in the second, seven in the third and 14 in the fourth. However, Buffalo’s offense kept scoring. That, plus Buffalo’s far stronger start, contributed to the win.
The Bills’ run game was another advantage over the Lions James Cook III had a dominant performance against Detroit, having 135 rushing yards and one rushing touchdown.
