LINCOLN, Neb. — The UND football program lost for the first time this season with a 34-7 setback at Nebraska in front of more than 86,000 fans at Memorial Stadium.

1. Tylutki plays some safety
Early in the game, UND played Grant Tylutki at safety alongside Tyler Erkman. Tylutki had previously been used exclusively at nickel.
Tylutki, a 5-foot-9 sophomore from Cold Spring, Minn., finished fourth on the Fighting Hawks with seven tackles and shared a tackle for loss.
"Just felt like sitting him behind (Jonnie) Wiltshire (at nickel) was not very good coaching when he's standing next to me during games," UND coach Eric Schmidt said. "That doesn't help our football team. He got a little dinged up, so we'll see where he's at."
2. Broderick handles short yardage
In the third quarter, with UND facing a third-and-1 and a fourth-and-1, the Fighting Hawks turned to a new short-yardage specialist in Minot's Griffin Broderick.
Broderick played during UND's 3-0 start to the season but mostly when the game was in hand late in the second half.
