The frontman of the 1980s heavy metal band Junkyard, David Roach, has passed away at the age of 59 after a courageous fight against cancer. The band announced his death via Instagram on Sunday, stating that he died peacefully at home surrounded by loved ones. Roach had revealed in June that he was battling an aggressive form of skin cancer. Just two weeks prior to his passing, he married his longtime girlfriend, Jennifer, in a private ceremony attended by his band members. In their tribute, Roach’s bandmates praised him as a talented artist, performer, songwriter, and singer, emphasizing his roles as a dedicated father, husband, and brother. Roach joined Junkyard in 1987 and achieved success with their debut album released under Geffen Records.
