Being a commuter can really suck.
Is it worth saving five figures a semester? Absolutely. But is it worth the constant headache I get every time I try to park on campus? HELL NO!
Quinnipiac decided to change its parking permit policy once again, this time introducing an orange parking permit, which means that freshman and sophomore commuters (me) can basically only park at Westwoods and the repaved Whitney Lot, which, of course, did not open until one week after the semester started.
Now, you may already know, but the two lots are a good distance from campus, so if you don’t want to walk a mile, you have to take the shuttle.
The Gold shuttle service, which was just introduced after the update to the parking permits, only runs until 8 p.m. This is NOT me hating on the shuttle drivers; they are wonderful people who deserve all the praise.
That’s plenty late for most people, but my schedule is a little crazy, and most of my days run way past 10 p.m. So now I have to think about different ways to park my car in North Lot and at Sleeping Giant, just so I can save myself extra walking time.
