The New York Jets had this one in the palm of their hands. Heading into the fourth quarter of their Week 2 matchup against the Green Bay Packers, they held a 10-point lead and felt like they were in control of a fairly messy football game.
Instead, Jordan Love and the Packers were able to scrape a win together, thanks to a couple of important stops from their defense and a big-time return from their special teams on a punt return.
Still, the Jets had a great chance to put this one away. With just two minutes to go, they had the ball near midfield on 4th & 1, with an opportunity to get a first down and set up kicker Jason Sanders for a game-winning field goal attempt.
Some fans may have wanted to see their team punt the ball away and give the defense a better chance to get a stop rather than gambling on fourth down. The Jets opted to hand it off to Braelon Allen, and he got stuffed. Turnover on downs.
