Actor Adam Baldwin, known for his role in the TNT series "The Last Ship," has announced his departure from Twitter amid ongoing concerns over platform policies. Following Twitter's establishment of a 'Trust and Safety Council' and reports of shadowbanning certain accounts, Baldwin expressed his disapproval of the platform's approach to free speech.
In an interview with the Independent Journal Review, Baldwin criticized Twitter's methods of penalizing users for expressing dissenting opinions, calling them "offensive" and a primary reason for his exit. He stated, "I've had enough. Twitter is dead to me. I'll seek out other platforms and won't return. It's unfortunate that so-called 'liberal thinkers' and the 'tolerant crowd' are intolerant of differing views. They prefer silencing dissent over engaging with it."
Before leaving, Baldwin deleted all but one of his tweets—an open call for Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey’s removal and the disbandment of the Trust and Safety Council.
