Ahead of Ryan Laley Games’ social deduction survival horror title Mimic launching into Early Access on Steam and the Epic Games Store on October 27 , players can get a chance to check out the game now during Steam Next Fest with the game’s demo.
The demo features one game map and matchmaking functionality, and will remain available until October 26 . The full game will be further enhanced with new maps, player roles & progression, gameplay mechanics, narrative content, and improvements based on player feedback.
Inspired by John Carpenter’s The Thing , Secret Hitler , and Alien: Isolation , players in Mimic must escape the crumbling Icarus spacecraft while rooting out who amongst them is secretly a mimic: an alien creature that can disguise itself as a fellow human survivor. Players must solve various objectives to create their escape route while surviving against two sinister threats pursuing them. Meanwhile, as the titular Mimic, you’ll hunt from the shadows, hiding beneath the flesh of a friend.
