All Workers Trapped in Chile's Codelco Mine Confirmed Dead After Rescue Efforts

All five miners trapped inside Codelco's El Teniente copper mine in Chile have been confirmed dead, according to regional authorities. Rescue operations, which involved clearing over two dozen meters of collapsed underground tunnels caused by a powerful earthquake last week, led to the discovery of the bodies. Prosecutor Aquiles Cubillo from the O'Higgins region reported the final victim's recovery on Sunday afternoon. The tragedy's death toll now stands at six, including one individual who died at the scene during the incident on Thursday evening. Codelco initially located one trapped worker on Saturday, followed by three more on Sunday, with the company yet to release details about the remaining missing worker.
