Amanda McIver, 67, of Scranton, passed away unexpectedly on Monday at Lehigh Valley Hospital.

Born in Scranton, Amanda was the beloved daughter of Margaret Griffin. A proud Scranton native, Amanda lived a life marked by resilience, determination, love, and an unwavering devotion to her family.

Amanda was a graduate of the University of Scranton, where she also dedicated 20 years of her professional life before continuing her career at TCMC. She was intelligent, hardworking, and fiercely determined—qualities that carried her through every chapter of her life.

But Amanda’s greatest accomplishment was never her career. It was the family she loved so deeply.

Amanda was an amazing mother, grandmother, daughter, and woman. She had overcome much throughout her life, and every challenge only revealed more of the strength and grit that lived within her. She was smart, spunky, fiercely independent, and never one to take any nonsense. She would tell you about yourself without hesitation—but somehow, she could do it in a way that made you feel loved while she was doing it.
