BOSTON — Massachusetts is among two dozen states that have reached an agreement with the Trump administration to halt cuts to the AmeriCorps program.
The settlement, announced Thursday, resolves a lawsuit filed by Attorney General Andrea Campbell and 23 other Democrats who argued that Republican President Donald Trump doesn’t have the authority under the Constitution to gut AmeriCorps, which was created by Congress more than three decades ago.
