Anaergia Inc., through its subsidiary Anaergia S.r.l., has entered into a partnership with a Bioenerys subsidiary to enhance and expand the Moglia anaerobic digestion plant situated in northern Italy. This upgrade aims to boost the plant's capacity to process agricultural waste and increase biomethane production, more than doubling the current injection into the energy grid. The project is projected to be completed by late 2026, with an expected revenue of C$11 million for Anaergia.
Andrea Sgorbini, CEO of Bioenerys' Agriculture division, expressed enthusiasm about deploying advanced technological solutions to optimize the facility, highlighting that the expansion will position Bioenerys as a more prominent provider of renewable energy solutions for farmers and organic waste generators.
