Another soggy day ahead of us, staying on the chilly side

It’s something many of us don’t want to hear…rain in the forecast. That’s the case today unfortunately, though the rain that we are expecting to see will be nothing like what many of us saw last Friday.

Showers, more widespread in the morning, will continue tracking east throughout the day today. By this afternoon, showers will be fighting a bit more dry air being drawn in from the northeast, thanks to our light northeasterly surface winds. This will help disperse some of the widespread nature of these showers, leading them to become more scattered as the day goes by.

Rainfall accumulations will be highest closer to Forest City, where totals could near 0.50″ or so. The further north and east you go, the lower the totals that are expected, with areas closer to Rochester & Preston likely only seeing a few hundredths of an inch. In short, this is not a rain event that is going to lead to dramatic river rises, but it will set back the grounds ability to dry out.

Due to the cloudy skies and light showers around the area, temperatures will be stuck at October-like levels, with highs only in the mid-upper 50’s. Winds will be fairly...
