Dr. Mary Alile-Idele, the National Woman Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has appealed to Nigeria's National Assembly to revisit the gender-related constitutional amendment bills that were rejected in 2022. These bills, notably the proposal for reserved legislative seats for women at both state and federal levels, are seen as crucial for advancing gender inclusion.

During a policy discussion focused on women's issues in Abuja, Dr. Alile described the rejection as a missed chance to enhance Nigeria's democratic process through more inclusive governance models.
