Arkansas Forests Collaborate with TotalEnergies to Enhance Global Carbon Sequestration

Arkansas-based forestry initiative partners with global energy giant to promote carbon sequestration and sustainable land management. Stuart Allen, CEO of NativState—a company dedicated to developing forest carbon projects—has recently secured a significant partnership with TotalEnergies, a French multinational transitioning towards a lower-carbon future. The collaboration involves approximately 240,000 acres of Arkansas land managed by around 280 private families across Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, and Tennessee. TotalEnergies announced that, starting in 2030, it will prioritize reducing emissions and utilize the carbon credits generated from these conservation efforts to offset its future carbon footprint voluntarily.
