Big Offensive Lineman Shaq McRoy Turns Heads at Arkansas

Spring Practice and Physical Development
During spring practice, McRoy weighed in at 362 pounds after spending a redshirt year at Oregon, where he didn't see game action last season. Arkansas offensive line coach Eric Mateos revealed that McRoy chose to shed some weight independently to enhance his agility.
Physical Conditioning and Muscle Composition
Despite his formidable stature, McRoy maintains around 20% body fat and possesses comparable lean muscle mass to his peers. Coach Mateos emphasized the delicate balance between being too heavy or too light, expressing confidence that McRoy is at an optimal weight.
"When he arrived, he told me he wanted to slim down to improve his movement," Mateos shared. "He wasn't sloppy; he had good muscle tone. He’s in a good spot now, able to run fast and move well."
