Robbinsdale Armstrong football has gotten off to a blistering start this season, collecting two wins in its first two games and outscoring opponents 56-26.
It all began with a 33-7 win over Burnsville Sept. 3. New starting quarterback Jordan Wordlaw threw 12 completions for 219 yards and two touchdowns, consistently finding Kyson Wanjara (five receptions, two touchdowns), Zahki Nix (three receptions) and Brayden Robinson (three receptions). Nix also led in rushing yards with 92, including one touchdown. Ben Francis and Jahsir Pinney also ran in touchdowns. Brayden Treadway led in individual tackles with four, while Jack Planchon had six total tackles.
Armstrong kept the strong start going Sept. 10, playing its first road game in a 23-19 victory at Park Center.
Wordlaw remained solid at quarterback with 138 yards and two touchdown passes, though he threw three interceptions. Nix was as reliable at running back as ever, rushing for 157 yards and scoring one touchdown. Wanjara caught two touchdown passes on two of his eight receptions, including the winning touchdown in the final minute of the game.
