Turner Ashby placed three golfers at 40 or lower to shoot 163 as a team and earn a non-district victory over Fort Defiance (178) on Tuesday at Lakeview Golf Club’s par-36 Peak Nine.
Philip Wilburn shot a 2-over-par 38 to earn medalist honors and lead the Knights.
Nikolas Glover followed with a 40, while Asa Fulk carded a 42 and Ty Hopson added a 43 to complete Turner Ashby’s four counting scores.
Gavin Knopp shot a 44 for the Knights, while Hunter Fairweather finished with a 48.
Carter Bird led Fort Defiance with a 40.
Nic Wilfong and Hunter Hamer each shot a 45, while Kingston Cook carded a 48 to round out the Indians’ counting scores.
Canon Miller added a 50 for Fort Defiance, while Conner Campbell finished with a 57.
Turner Ashby’s Carter Caffo led the exhibition players with a 41. Parker Harold shot a 45 for the Knights, while Fort Defiance’s Brandon Reever also carded a 45. Dillon Emswiller finished with a 54 for the Indians.
