Celebrating the Life of Freddie L. Platt, Sr.: Beloved Father and Community Member Passes Away at 78 Freddie Lee Platt, aged 78, of Selma, Alabama, peacefully died at Baptist Medical Center South in Montgomery on July 27, 2025. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charlie and Charlie Mae Platt, as well as his siblings Reginald, James, Lawrence, Earl, and Cherry Lee Platt, all of Little Rock, Arkansas. Surviving him are his wife, Pinkie Platt; his children, Jarvaris and Dr. Terrance Platt of Selma, Alabama; Freddie L. Platt of Plano, Texas; and daughter Andrea Greene of St. Petersburg, Florida. He also leaves behind his sisters, Lessie Mae and Chlora Platt, of Little Rock, Arkansas. Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday, August 2, 2025, at noon at West Trinity Baptist Church in Selma, Alabama, with Pastor Gregory Reese officiating. Interment will follow at Pineview Memory Gardens in Valley Grande, Alabama. The arrangements are managed by Randall Miller Funeral Service and Crematory.
