The Waseca girls soccer team entered last week with a five-game losing streak and now enter this week on a two-game winning streak.
The Bluejays had three games last week which all took place at home. They started it with a loss to Northfield on Monday, Sept. 14 before picking up wins against Tri-City United on Tuesday, Sept. 15 and Worthington on Thursday, Sept. 17.
The Bluejays started the season with a 4-1 win against Westonka at home on Thursday, Aug. 27. They then went on a losing streak, with their loss to the Northfield Raiders being their sixth straight.
The Raiders scored two minutes into the game at Waseca before Waseca freshman Rachel Mielke tied the game up four minutes later.
It was pretty much all Northfield after that though, as the Raiders scored seven more goals in the first half to take an 8-2 lead at halftime. Waseca’s second goal of the half came with five minutes left in it and was scored by senior Angelica Lopez. The Raiders ended up winning the Section 1AA match-up 11-2.
