BombayMami and TroyBoi Reunite on Slow-Burn ‘Honey Liquor’
There is a particular kind of sweetness that asks something of you, and on “Honey Liquor,” released September 18, BombayMami has decided exactly how much she is willing to give. The Indo-Swiss singer, songwriter and creative director reunites with London producer TroyBoi for a single that moves at the pace of a long, knowing glance: unhurried, heavy in the low end, and threaded with South Asian vocal ornament that curls around the beat like smoke. It is their second record together, and it lands at a moment when the global diaspora is no longer asking permission to be heard in the mainstream.
The partnership began with “Beggin,” the flute-laced standout from TroyBoi’s 2025 EP ‘Rootz,’ a five-track project on which the producer, whose heritage spans India, China, Portugal and Nigeria, turned toward the Bollywood soundtracks his mother played at home. BombayMami was the new voice on a roster that included Punjabi veterans Jazzy B and Amrit Maan, and she held her ground.
