NetherRealm chief Ed Boon has been swatting away speculation about the studio’s next move, but one of his responses may have only fueled the chatter around Injustice 3.
Rumors about a new Injustice game have circulated for years, and the latest round picked up steam after claims emerged that the unannounced fighter could bring back Supergirl and add Batwoman to the roster. Supergirl would fit naturally with the series. She was a major presence in Injustice 2. Batwoman, if true, would be a first for the mainline games.
Boon first jumped in after seeing a satirical post on X that joked NetherRealm was teaming with Insomniac on what it called the first AAAA fighting game. He replied bluntly that it was “100% false” and asked for the next rumor.
That opened the door to another batch of claims, this time suggesting NetherRealm was testing Injustice 3, Mortal Kombat 13 or even Mortal Kombat 9. Boon answered that those claims were “All false.”
