A person of interest has been arrested after a boy was fatally injured early Saturday in what the Saline County sheriff's office called a "large fight."
Deputies responded about 12:30 a.m. Saturday to a report of a fight in the 5300 block of North Detonti Road, the sheriff's office said in a Facebook post. The area is about 6 miles southeast of Benton.
The injured boy was transported to a hospital, where he later died from his injuries, the sheriff's office said.
The post did not identify the victim or the person who was arrested. A spokesman for the sheriff's office didn't respond to a message seeking further information on Saturday.
