Brazil were knocked out of the FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup this Saturday (19). After an impeccable campaign and making life difficult for their opponents, Brazil were beaten 1-0 by Spain in the World Cup quarterfinals in Poland.
Brazil started by keeping possession, with good movement, and in the 4th minute tested the Spanish goalkeeper with a pass from Gisele on the left and a shot from Kaylane from outside the box. Relying on quick play and passing combinations down the left flank, Spain did not sit back and applied pressure.
After 11 minutes, Thais Lima made her first save. Celia Segura took advantage of the Brazilian goalkeeper being off her line and tried her luck from outside the area, but Thaís recovered in time to stop the Spanish attack.
The match remained balanced, with chances for both sides, but Spain, again down the left, opened the scoring in the 26th minute. Rosalia sent in a cross for Pau Comendador, who got the shot away. The ball took a deflection off Thaynara and ended up in the back of the Brazilian net.
