Detroit-based Breadless signed a multi-unit development agreement with Third Coast Harvest LLC, officially launching the brand's franchise expansion strategy.
The franchisee, led by Jonah Smith, will develop two locations in Ann Arbor, Michigan, and three in Chicago. The first Michigan location is expected to open by fall 2027, with the first Chicago restaurant planned for 2028.
Breadless has three company-owned locations in Detroit, including restaurants on Larned Street and in the Newlab innovation building on 15th Street and Comerica Park, as well as a restaurant in Rochester, Michigan.
The brand's menu focuses on made-to-order sandwiches served in leafy green wraps, including romaine lettuce and Swiss chard. The menu also includes bowls and smoothies.
The Third Coast Harvest agreement is the first step in Breadless' broader growth strategy. The brand is seeking franchisees in Florida, Georgia, New Jersey, New York, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia and Washington, D.C.
