The Cleveland Browns are continuing to shape their wide receiver lineup as training camp advances.
On Tuesday, the team made a significant roster adjustment by waiving veteran receiver Michael Woods II from injured reserve after he sustained a broken hand early in camp.
According to Browns insider Mary Kay Cabot, the team plans to reach an injury settlement with Woods, aiming to re-sign him to the practice squad once the mandatory waiting period concludes.
“Browns have waived Mike Woods II (broken hand) from injured reserve and will reach an injury settlement with him. The plan is to bring him back and place him on the practice squad as soon as possible,” Cabot reported.
Woods, drafted in the sixth round from Oklahoma in 2022, has faced multiple setbacks since joining Cleveland.
He played in only five games last season, securing seven receptions for 65 yards.
His 2023 season was cut short during offseason workouts with quarterback Deshaun Watson when he tore his Achilles.
The recent injury occurred on the first day of training camp, adding to a challenging period for the young receiver.
