Cleveland Browns Sign Former Bengals Running Back Trayveon Williams After Release
The Cleveland Browns have added running back Trayveon Williams to their roster, following his recent release from the Cincinnati Bengals. Williams, who briefly spent time with the New England Patriots during the offseason, has spent most of his NFL career with Cincinnati. The 27-year-old, drafted in the sixth round in 2019, has appeared in every game for the Bengals over the past two seasons. Primarily a special teams player, Williams participated in over half of Cincinnati's special teams snaps in 2023 and 2024, though he saw limited offensive action last season. His career stats include 62 carries for 307 yards, averaging 5.0 yards per carry, but he has yet to score an NFL touchdown. Additionally, Williams has contributed as a kick returner, with 33 returns totaling 743 yards. This move marks a homecoming for Williams in Ohio, and he now faces the challenge of securing a spot on the Browns' active roster.
