Bubba Wallace Points to Car Setup as Key Factor in Iowa Corn 350 Performance
23XI Racing's Bubba Wallace comments on the challenges faced during the Iowa Corn 350 at Iowa Speedway. Coming off a strong performance at the Brickyard 400, Wallace aimed for a top finish but encountered setbacks caused by car setup issues.
Despite starting in the middle of the pack, Wallace managed to rally back to finish sixth after a difficult start that saw him as far back as 32nd. He attributed part of his improvement to the team’s quick repairs, particularly addressing a toe-link problem that helped regain lost time.
Regarding the race setup, Wallace expressed his concerns about the car's configuration, which was similar to a previous setup that proved less effective at Richmond. He emphasized the importance of team communication and adaptability, noting, "I told them, don’t bring this setup because it’s reminiscent of Richmond, but at the end, it ran well, so there are some lessons to learn."
