The 23rd-ranked Minnesota Duluth volleyball team put on a show and quickly in their first home match of 2026, sweeping Northern State 3-0 (25-22, 25-21, 25-21) at Romano Gym Friday night.
UMD, which had lost its last five meetings with the Wolves, simply had more firepower Friday, notching 47 kills to NSU’s 33. The Bulldogs were also cleaner, with just 11 errors, five total over the last two sets, leading to a wide .360-to-.156 gulf in hitting percentage.

The UMD offense had success on multiple fronts, led by 12 kills from freshman Kenzie Kiminski of Floodwood. Madeline Guetzkow added 11 kills. Setter Ava Jones dished out 34 assists.
Madison Reed led the Bulldogs with 10 digs. The Bulldogs had a 9-5 blocking advantage with help from Xada Johnson, who had a hand in five.
The Bulldogs (10-1, 3-0 NSIC) host Jamestown on Saturday.
