Moore County Judge Rowdy Rhoades today ordered the burn ban that has been in place in Moore County for months to be lifted. The order cited recent rains that have greatly lessened the danger of wildfires.
After months of drought, Moore County has been experiencing a wet early fall, receiving more than three inches in the last two days.
The ban was recently extended on August 24 before the change in weather. It can be reinstated by Rhoades or the Moore County Commissioners should conditions change.
