Despite issues with double faults—recording five in this match compared to 23 and 14 in previous matches—Gauff managed to win two three-set matches in Montreal. Mboko, ranked 85th globally, will now compete against either Lin Zhu of China or Jessica Bouzas Maneiro of Spain in the next round.
