Canby police search for driver in hit-run crash that injured child riding e-scooter

CANBY, Ore. (KATU) — A driver of a vehicle struck and seriously injured a child riding an electric scooter on Wednesday night and fled the scene, according to the Canby Police Department.

It happened at about 7:20 p.m. on S Ivy Street near Southwest 3rd Avenue.

Police said after the driver of the white cargo-Sprinter-style van hit the child, the driver drove southbound on Ivy.

The van probably has front-end damage, police said. It has distinctive green-and-black decals that wrap around the entire vehicle. There is also a logo of some type on its rear doors.

The condition of the child wasn’t immediately known.

Police are asking the public for help in identifying the van and what business it belongs to.
