Car crashes into Chambersburg apartment building, one injured

Emergency responders in Chambersburg say one person went to the hospital following a car crash into an apartment building Sunday.

Greater Chambersburg Area Paid Fire Fighters Association, IAFF Local 1813, says the crash happened near the intersection of Mill Road and Orchard Drive.

Crews say they secured the vehicle and all those inside the car. One person inside the vehicle was transported to a medical facility for a check-up.

Emergency responders added no occupants of the apartment complex suffered any injuries.

First responders requested PMCA to assess the building's structural integrity after finding several load-bearing members broke.

Residents of the affected apartments were temporarily relocated until shoring could be completed, after crews removed the car.
