Carmelo Anthony's Hall of Fame Induction and Presenters
Carmelo Anthony is set to enter the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame on September 6. Interestingly, he nearly assembled his ideal group of presenters to honor him at the ceremony.
Chosen Presenters and Notable Absence
According to SNY's Ian Begley, former NBA stars Allen Iverson and Dwyane Wade will be the ones presenting Melo during the induction. This duo brings a nostalgic nod to the 2000s era, characterized by oversized shorts and vibrant basketball culture. However, one prominent name is notably absent from the list—Michael Jordan.
Melo's Inspiration from Michael Jordan
Anthony expressed his wish for Jordan to be part of his Hall of Fame moment during a podcast appearance earlier this year. On the 'Podcast P with Paul George' show, Melo revealed that his choice of presenters was inspired by MJ.
"I was inspired by MJ," Anthony shared. "Not just because of his basketball greatness, but because MJ saw potential in me as an 18- or 19-year-old kid—believed I could become a Hall of Famer someday. That means a lot to me."
