Carmelo’s First Alert 6 Forecast: Widespread rain later tonight, somewhat unsettled this weekend
OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) - After spotty showers throughout Friday afternoon, more widespread rainfall is moving in for Friday evening and overnight. This system could even bring a few thunderstorms to the area, so keep an eye on the radar if you’re heading to high school football games tonight—you will want to bring the rain gear.
Rain will likely linger into Saturday morning before conditions quiet down for much of the afternoon. However, don’t put away that umbrella just yet. A warm front lifting in from the south and west will set off another round of showers and storms late Saturday afternoon and evening. An isolated severe storm cannot be completely ruled out either.
Temperatures Saturday and Sunday will climb into the low 70s, which is still slightly below normal for late September.
By early to midweek, cooler air and additional rain chances will return to the forecast. September 2026 is shaping up to be one of the top ten wettest Septembers on record—and it could even rank among the five wettest. This has been a notably wet month across the region.
