KINGSTON, N.Y. — The Catskill Mountain Railroad will begin its Fall Foliage Adventure Train rides for a three-weekend run on Saturday, the railroad announced on Monday.
The Fall Foliage Adventure Train rides will operate Sept. 26 and Sept. 27 and Oct. 2, 3, 4, 9, 10, 11 and 12.
Riders will enjoy a “spectacular fall journey” along the former Ulster and Delaware Railroad corridor while enjoying the natural beauty of the Catskills from the railroad’s unique perspective, a release said. The train will cross the Esopus Creek on the restored C9 Bridge and pass some of the oldest farmland in the United States along the Hurley Flats before climbing the foothills of Hurley Mountain, organizers said.
All trains depart from the Westbrook Lane station at 55 Kingston Plaza Road, Kingston, near the Hannaford Supermarket. The approximately eig8ht-mile round trip lasts 1 hour and 15 minutes.
Tickets are $25 for adults, $23 for seniors, military and veterans, and $19 for children 2 to 12 years old. Toddlers under 2 years on the lap are free.
