From her early years, she was captivated by music, performing as a teenager alongside her cousin in New York City, showcasing her violin skills and Irish dance, which culminated in a memorable appearance on The Ed Sullivan Show. She received a scholarship to study music at Marywood University, where her personal and professional growth flourished. It was during her time there that she met her lifelong partner, George, with whom she shared 65 years of marriage. Mary dedicated her life to education and the arts. She taught in the Scranton School District for over four decades, inspiring countless students with her passion, discipline, and kindness. She also directed local musical groups such as The Interludes for more than 20 years, led the St. Pauls Choir, and managed the Audubon String Quartet. Her love for Irish music led her to perform with Irish ensembles both in Scranton and Florida, where she spent winters with George.
