Central Indiana EV Showcase: Promoting sustainability for the sixth year
INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — For those wanting to learn more about electric vehicles, the Indiana Office of Sustainability and the City-County Council are working to hold the sixth annual Central Indiana Electric Vehicle Showcase.
The event will be on Saturday and will allow people to learn about the different models of electric vehicles and speak with the owners of EV’s to learn more about what makes them different from traditional gas cars.
“Electric vehicles have a low cost of operation and help families save money on transportation-related expenses,” said District 14 City-County Councilor Andy Nielsen in a press release. “This event gives residents the opportunity to hear directly from local owners and connect with dealers if they decide this is the right choice for them.”
The office of sustainability says that transportation accounts for nearly a third of Indianapolis’ greenhouse gas emissions. It says that the goal with events like this is to help reduce pollution and make people aware that options like EV’s are out there.
