Los Angeles Chargers linebacker Denzel Perryman was detained on serious weapons charges following a traffic stop late Friday evening. According to ESPN, authorities reportedly found multiple firearms in Perryman's vehicle during the stop, including two firearms classified by some as assault weapons. The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department issued a statement confirming that at approximately 9:30 p.m. on August 1, 2025, deputies pulled over Perryman, aged 32, due to vehicle code violations. During the encounter, five firearms were recovered from his vehicle, two of which were assault-style rifles. Perryman was taken into custody and charged with weapons violations; he cooperated fully with law enforcement.
