China and Russia have initiated a joint naval exercise in the Sea of Japan, aiming to bolster their strategic alliance. The "Joint Sea 2025" operation, launched on Sunday near Vladivostok, spans three days and involves activities such as submarine rescue operations, anti-submarine warfare, air defense, missile defense, and naval combat drills. Four Chinese ships, including the guided-missile destroyers Shaoxing and Urumqi, are participating alongside Russian naval vessels. Following the drills, both nations plan to conduct joint patrols across the Pacific maritime region. This exercise continues a tradition of annual military collaborations, with this year's goal being to deepen their comprehensive strategic partnership. Amidst Western accusations of supporting Russia in Ukraine, China maintains a stance of neutrality, condemning the prolongation of the conflict and calling for peace.
