The renowned star, who has been battling Multiple Sclerosis since 2021, shared her ordeal on her podcast, MeSsy, which she hosts with fellow MS patient Jamie-Lynn Sigler.
On the August 5 episode, recorded from her hospital bed, Christina explained that she felt unwell during a flight back from Europe. She decided to seek immediate medical attention upon arrival to prevent her condition from worsening.
"I wanted to be admitted right away," Christina stated. "I insisted on all possible tests, even the ones you might not think of, to find out what's going on."
She recounted waking up with excruciating side pain, initially fearing her appendix had ruptured. Emergency scans revealed kidney infections on both sides, leading her to remain hospitalized until treatment cleared the infection.
"I'm here because of this kidney infection, which requires IV antibiotics," she said. "I'm staying until the antibiotics do their job."
