C’mon Tigre release their new album ‘LUMINA’ today, October 2, bringing together thirteen tracks that have been gradually finding their way out into the world over the past year. We’ve already heard quite a bit of it. ‘K//A\K//A’ arrived last September, followed this year by ‘Driver Idle’ with New York rapper Perry Maysun, ‘Vanta’, the TYTO collaboration ‘Ceiling Drip Gospel’, and most recently ‘The Beautiful Glitch’. Hearing the whole record now, those tracks make a lot more sense as part of something bigger.
Electronics are much more present this time around. Drum machines, synths and arpeggiators do a lot of the work, but C’mon Tigre haven’t abandoned the acoustic side of their sound. Oud, cello, xylophone, vibraphone and percussion are still there, sometimes quite prominently. There is a stronger club influence running through the album, but it never feels like they have suddenly decided to make a dance record.
A lot of this material was also played live before it was properly finished. C’mon Tigre introduced the new songs at ROBOT Festival in Bologna in October 2025 and at JAZZMI in Milan the following month, using those shows to see how the music behaved outside the studio.
