NASHVILLE — Pembroke native Rob Cole was a winner at Sunday’s Josie Awards, which recognize the best in independent country music, held at the Grand Ole Opry House in Nashville.
Cole was the male Fan’s Choice winner.
This is the fourth Josie Award that Cole has won in the last four years.
Some moments you can put into words. Some you just have to soak in,” Cole said in a social media post. “Grateful for every opportunity, every memory, and every person who has helped me get here. Priceless moments. Forever grateful.”
Cole’s upcoming schedule includes local dates, with a pregame tailgate concert before Saturday’s UNC Pembroke football game, and a show at the Robeson County Fair on Oct. 3. He will also play YourPie Pizza on Oct. 15.
Among his many appearances outside Robeson County is a concert at the North Carolina State Fair on Oct. 23 in Raleigh.
Cole appeared on seasons 25 and 28 of “The Voice” on NBC, reaching the semifinals in season 28 last year as part of Michael Buble’s team.
