Throughout their decorated high school cross country careers, numerous former Clay City and Northview standouts, all of whom are currently running at the collegiate level now, have put together memorable races at LaVern Gibson Championship Course.
On Saturday, they were back at the historic course for the annual John McNichols Invitational hosted by Indiana State University where they competed against some of the top programs in the country.
In the women’s 6k race, Indiana State’s Halle Miller finished 103rd overall with a time of 21:58 and Gnister Grant finished 174th overall with a time of 22:58.
In the men’s 8k race, Purdue’s Nolan White finished 51st overall with a time of 24:30; Indiana State’s Jcim Grant finished 64th overall with a time of 27:19; Saint Mary-of-the-Woods’ Jayden Hickenbotham finished 128th overall with a time of 29:44; and Rose Hulman’s Hank Slater finished 179th overall with a time of 33:01.
