U.S. Air Force Colonel Kevin Geoffroy assumed command of the 316th Operations Group during a formal change of command ceremony on July 31, 2025. The event was officiated by Col. Jun S. Oh, commander of the 316th Wing and installation, honoring the contributions of outgoing leader Col. Matthew Shrull and welcoming Geoffroy into his new role.
Col. Oh emphasized the group's commitment, stating, "There are no days off in the 316th Operations Group. They are prepared for any situation, anywhere, at any time."
In his new position, Geoffroy oversees the group's operations, which include the only flying unit within the 316th Wing. The group provides critical rotary-wing response support to the National Capital Region and global clients, managing airfield infrastructure and aviation services.
The group comprises the 1st Helicopter Squadron and the 316th Operations Support Squadron, collectively supporting over 300 personnel, including active-duty members, civilians, and contractors.
