A district court in Colorado has permanently blocked a state law that barred healthcare providers from offering abortion pill reversal treatments, safeguarding women's reproductive choices. The legal challenge was led by attorneys from the Alliance Defending Freedom, representing licensed nurse practitioner Chelsea Mynyk in the case Bella Health and Wellness v. Weiser.
Abortion pill reversal is recognized as a safe procedure that can counteract the effects of the initial medication used in chemical abortions, potentially saving the unborn child's life when women change their minds. However, in April 2023, Colorado enacted legislation prohibiting medical professionals from administering this reversal, effectively denying women a safe alternative.
