The BFA-St. Albans Comets came off the bus at Rice Memorial ready to play. They took the first set 25-9. Emma Harrison, Zoe Montagne Litchfield, and Kaylee Billings all went on long service runs to spark the Comets.
The Comets fell behind 6-1 in the second set, but regrouped and went on to win 25-12. The Comets sealed the deal with a 25-20 win in the third set.
I'm very proud of my team and how well they played tonight. They were focused, driven, and executed extremely well. We were on the attack all evening long, putting pressure on the Rice Defense. Defensively, we were sharp and had about a half dozen saves that brought the OOHS and AHHS from the Comet faithful
Our setters, Harrison and Billings, were great again tonight, combining for 18 assists. Harrison and Karina Farinaccio were excellent on the net, combining for 14 kills. Our defense was stellar, led by our libero Marah McGinn.
The Comets are back in action next Wednesday, Sept. 23, when they travel to Essex to take on the State’s perennial powerhouse. We are looking forward to the challenge and seeing how we stack up with the best. Come out and watch what could be a great match
