United Neighborhood Centers of Northeastern Pennsylvania has been granted $12,000 through the Fall 2024 Community Needs Fund by the Scranton Area Community Foundation. This funding will bolster the organization's Emergency Services program, which provides immediate assistance—such as food, rent support, utility aid, clothing, gasoline vouchers, prescription assistance, and housing aid—to over 12,000 individuals and families annually. UNC aims to help families regain financial stability and achieve long-term independence via its Angel’s Attic Food and Clothing Pantry and comprehensive case management services. For decades, UNC’s Emergency Assistance Program has served as a crucial lifeline for vulnerable community members during times of crisis.
