Congressman Steube Introduces Legislation to Ban International Collaboration in U.S. Elections
Representative Greg Steube from Florida has proposed the No Foreign Election Partnership Act, a bill aimed at preventing federal election agencies from collaborating with international organizations. The legislation explicitly bans data sharing and advisory agreements between agencies such as the Federal Election Commission and Election Assistance Commission and foreign entities. "Securing our elections from foreign interference is essential for maintaining integrity," Steube stated, emphasizing that international organizations should not access sensitive voter data or influence American electoral processes. This initiative follows similar efforts at the state level, where Florida legislators have introduced bills requiring disclosure of foreign funding sources involved in elections. Steube's legislative activities also include the 2025 ELECT Act, which seeks to eliminate the Presidential Election Campaign Fund and allocate remaining funds to reduce the national deficit, criticizing the outdated and abused system of taxpayer-funded presidential campaigns.
